Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of heat treatment in the form of sub-critical, austenization, quenching and tempering the hardness values of the white cast iron material as consideration for testing wear resistance of local and foreign products as grinding balls. Samples was treated sub-critical at a temperature of 700°C with a hold time of 2 hours and continued with austenization temperature variation of 850, 950 and 1050°C with a hold time of each sample is 5 hours. The optimum hardness value was obtained at a temperature of 950°C austenization in the amount of 68.3 HRC and decreased at a temperature of 1050°C. It is because the solubility of carbon elements making up the matrix. Next will be tempering at a temperature of 250°C and holding time 2 hours hardness values decreased but the value of wear resistance is obtained even better ie grinding balls of 0.03 g/kg of product due to the combination of its constituent elements, namely chromium-molybdenum and nickel are high the presence of wear phenomena induced martensite.

Abstract

Abstract. Research on the effect of Pb doping is 0; 0.1; 0.2; 0.3 and 0.4 to the phase growth of the Bi-2212 Ca 1,10 superconducting material was carried out by the solid method at a calcination temperature of 800°C for 10 hours and sintering temperature of 830°C for 20 hours. The effect of Pb doping on the phase growth of superconducting material can be seen by volume fraction, impurity, and degree of orientation. The results showed that samples without doping Pb (Pb 0) had lower volume fraction values than samples with doping Pb (Pb 0.1-0.4). Addition of Pb doping (Pb 0.1-0.4) will increase the volume fraction. The highest volume fraction (Fv) in doping Pb 0.4 was 80.99%, whereas the lowest volume fraction on doping Pb 0.1 was 67.73%. Samples without doping Pb (Pb 0) had a lower orientation grade value than samples with doping Pb (Pb 0.1-0.4). The addition of Pb doping 0.1 and 0.4 has a higher orientation degree compared to Pb doping of 0.2 and 0.3. The sample with doping Pb 0,1 has the highest orientation degree value that is 24,87%. Based on the SEM results all the seals have shown layers arranged in a direction (oriented) with empty space between the slab (void) is relatively small.

Abstract

The study about effect of ferro boron (FeB) additive towards characteristic of hematite (α-Fe2O3) powder has been done. The powders of FeB andα-Fe2O3 was milled with dry milling method using  Planetary Ball Mill (PBM) for 12 hours. Variation of FeB compositions are 4 and 8 wt.%. The milled powder was calcinedat temperatures of  900, 1000 and 1100oC. The characterization of the powders was performed by Particle Size Analyzer (PSA), true density, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM). The results effect of additives FeB showed an increasing of  particle size which related to decrease of true density of  sample  8 wt.% composition with a value 2.80 μm and 2.47 g / cm3. Respectively the  XRD characterization of sample with 8 wt.%composition with the calcination temperature of 1000 and 1100 °C showed that  iron boride (Fe2B)phase was formed. Maghemite (γ-Fe2O3) and magnetite (Fe3O4) was formed during calcination for non-additive sample. The VSM characterization showing the effect of the calcination temperatureare increasing the magnetic properties  and the addition of FeB tends to lower the magnetic properties within  samples before and aftercalcined.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mensintesis dan karakterisasi edible film dengan bahan baku pektin metoksil rendah dari kulit kakao dengan sorbitol sebagai plasticizer. Pengaruh filler CaCO3 dengan variasi berat (0, 0,2, dan 0,4 gram) terhadap kekuatan tarik dan permeabilitas uap air (WVP) telah dievaluasi.. Isolasi pektin dari kulit kakao dilakukan dengan ekstraksi menggunakan ammonium oksalat pada suhu 85oC, pH 3,6 selama 60 menit. Edible film disintesis pada suhu 85oC dengan waktu pengadukan 50 menit. Bahan baku pektin yang digunakan berukuran 200 mesh dengan variasi konsentrasi plasticizer sorbitol (1,2, dan 3% volume). Edible film yang dihasilkan dikeringkan pada suhu 55oC selama 6 jam. Hasil penelitian diperoleh produk edible film dengan karakteristik nilai kuat tarik 6,511 MPa, persen pemanjangan 2,419%, modulus young 269,119 MPa, dan WVP 5,583 g/m2.day pada konsentrasi CaCO3 0,4 gram dan sorbitol 1%. Pengaruh penambahan filler mampu meningkatkan nilai kuat tarik dan permeabilitas uap air lebih tinggi dibandingkan tanpa filler.

Abstract

Automation system waterwheel for farmed shrimp respiration have realized using dissolved oxygen sensors (DO). The DO sensor used to detect the levels of dissolved oxygen in the water. Digital data output sensor DO is connected to the computer via the arduino uno, furthermore the output data are recorded and displayed on the LCD monitor and a television series. Automation system using relay with a range of dissolved oxygen levels <4,00 mg/L for the condition of the windmills ON and >5,50 mg/L for the condition of the windmills OFF.

Abstract

The influence of electroplating time Zn-Mn to corrosion rate of AISI 1020 steel in corrosive medium NaCl 3% had been researching. This research used time variation 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 seconds. Corrosion rate testing is done by soaking the steel for 168 hours in corrosive medium NaCl and calculated with the loss of steel weight. The result showed that the longer electroplating time that used, caused the increasing of mass and Zn-Mn content of steel. It can make the corrosion rate will be decreased. The lowest corrosion rate obtained at 50 seconds electroplating time and 60 mA/cm2 current density is 0,059 mmpy. XRD characterization of steel without electroplating after corrosion rate testing showed the changing of phase from iron into oxide phase magnetite (Fe3O4). The analyze of metallurgical microscope showed the better layer with the increasing time, whereas after corrosion rate testing the steel surface were cracks.

Abstract

Abstract.The effectiveness of uncaria gambir leaves extract as inhibitor on carbon steel API 5L with heat treatment in NaCl 3% had been researched. The research was done by weight loss. Corrosion rate had been tested on carbon steel API 5L with heat treatment and carbon steel without heat treatment in NaCl 3% added by soursop leaves extract inhibitor for 168 hours with concentrations of 0%, 2%, 4%, and 6%. The result showed at carbon steel API 5L with and without heat treatment corrosion rate higher at concentration inhibitor 0% that is 0,051 mm/y. While corrosion rate lower at concentration inhibitor 2% that is 0,03%. Until, Efficiency higher at carbon steel API 5L with and without heat treatment in concentration inhibitor 2% that is 61,63% and 66,43%. The X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) characterization result showed at carbon steel API 5L with heat treatment that the phase formed is martensite. At carbon steel API 5L with heat treatment that the phase formed is pure Fe. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) characterization at carbon steel API 5L with heat treatment showed even clusters and larger size, holes, cracks and grain boundary in the surface. At carbon steel API 5L without heat treatment showed uneven clusters and smaller size, holes, cracks, but grain boundary not showed in the surface. Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) characterization on sample with inhibitor 0% obtained Cl element and Oxygen larger than inhibitor 2%. Abstract

The influence of electroplating time Cu-Mn to corrosion rate of Steel AISI 1020 in corrosive medium NaCl 3% had been researched. Corrosion rate testing is used weight loss method by soaking the samples in the corrosive medium NaCl for 168 hours. The results showed that the longer time electroplating that used, the corrosion rate will be decreased. This is because the growing number of Cu and Mn ions deposited on the surface of the sample after electroplating. The lowest corrosion rate obtained at the time of 50 seconds that is 0.098 mmpy. The analysis results of metallurgical microscope showed that the coating looks thicker with increasing time of electroplating, while after corrosion rate tested thecoatings being black and a few coating of samples were cracked due to corrosion.The X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) characterization result showed thatthe phase of AISI 1020 raw material after corrosion tested is changed from pure iron (Fe) to magnetite phase (Fe3O4).

Abstract

The measuring instrument of rainfall with weightscale system using phptotransistor NPN type, designed for measuring the value of rainfall wich fell down with using LED light. The instrument designed using data processor Arduino Uno, timer DS1307, and micro SD The testing instrument was do in BMKG Bandara Radin Inten II South of Lampung. The analog data has results by phototransistor will be processed by Arduino Uno and the results data of rianfall  which  saved in the micro secure digital and  displayed by the Liuquid Crystal Dislay (LCD) with delay 1 second. The control system instrument using a valve solenoid with volume reference 500 ml. The instrument resolution has results was equal 0,19 mm and the instrument capable to read the minimum of vilume change up to 2 ml. Avarage of error from measuring instrument was equal to 5,7 %.

Abstract

Generator design has been realized as a source of electricity energy nanohidro using 6 pairs of poles of permanent magnets and copper coils to 6 pairs of windings tool created to generate power nanohidro dam waterfall flows to the load 210 watt. Batu Putu designed tool able to work constantly for rotating turbines. Design to manufacture rotor and stator circuits mounted on prime mover induction motor. The test results showed that the greater the speed of the voltage and current produced water increases. Testing is done with a multimeter instrument and tachometer first appliance testing done in 1 day 5 hours produces the light on the data obtained average voltage - current average of 128,92V and was unchanged at 1.69 A.
